PART TWO

Fade in to the sky. A wall is in the foreground nearby. Danny flies up through the sky with his ghostly tail, seen from the back. His hands are raised.

Zoom out to show Jasmine from the back, arm bent and palm flat, completely stunned. Tucker and Sam are further away and also seen from the back, Tucker holding his cone.

Cut to Tucker and Sam from the back. Tucker turns his head around. He turns the rest of the way, gritting his teeth and perspiring. Sam turns around as well, wondering what Tucker saw.

Cut to Jasmine, looking up. She leans forward and points up with one hand.

JASMINE: Did you see that?!

Cut to Tucker and Sam, Tucker looking up with his cone in one hand and his other arm at his side with his fingers out, completely taken off-guard. Sam just stands there. By them are a couple of trash cans with water leaking from under them.

JASMINE: (offscreen) Tell me I didn’t--

Jasmine runs onscreen holding a finger in the air.

JASMINE: --see what I--

She looks up with caution and presses her fists together.

JASMINE: --just saw!

Cut to Tucker with his cone. He holds up his palm.

TUCKER: I-It’s not what (shrugs, perspires, and smiles weakly) you think, Jazz.

Sam’s hand reaches onscreen and takes Tucker’s cone. She shoves it in his mouth, gagging him and coating his lips in pink.

SAM: (offscreen) Of course it’s not.

Tucker opens his eyes. Pan right to Sam with her hand up and eyes closed in a matter-of-fact way.

SAM: Ghost’s aren’t (looks up and shrugs) real.

She leans her head to the right.

SAM: Jazz, (puts down one arm and points up with the other) you sound like--

Close-up on Jasmine.

SAM: (offscreen) --your father.

Jasmine puts a finger around her chin and thinks.

SAM: (Jasmine’s thought) “He keeps some things to himself…”

Jasmine’s eyes narrow as she looks more to the right.

TUCKER: (Jasmine’s thought) “We’re Danny’s friends. That means we keep his secrets--

Jasmine’s eyes pop wide.

TUCKER: (Jasmine’s thought) --*from* you?”

Cut to Sam looking up at Jasmine, who is zoning out.

SAM: Jazz?

JASMINE: Oh!

Jasmine puts a hand to her mouth and looks down to Sam.

JASMINE: Oh, of course.

She laughs weakly. Cut to Jasmine as she lifts her palms over her shoulders, looking up to the right.

JASMINE: My parents are such loons,--

Jasmine puts down one arm and puts her other palm out.

JASMINE: --it’s rubbing off!

Jasmine puts a palm to her face and looks down at her pink wristwatch.

JASMINE: Oh my gosh,--

Cut to Jasmine, Tucker and Sam. Jasmine looks down at her watch and waves out her hand from her face.

JASMINE: --is it that late?

She curls her fingers into fists by her cheeks.

JASMINE: I’ve gotta work on my (uncurls her fingers into palms) Spirit Week speech!

She turns to the right and runs off.

Cut to Tucker and Sam. Tucker puts a hand on his head, and Sam puts a hand on her chest.

TUCKER and SAM: Phew!

Cut to inside the drugstore, high over the floor. There’s an aisle with a sign that says “PHARMACY Rx” over it where a man in a red jacket and hat is taking something from the shelf. A man in a green shirt is on the other side by a stand that says “Cold & Flu”. A woman with curly auburn hair is walking past an aisle for “MOVIES”. A woman in pink is looking at some shelf in the back. There’s also an aisle with “GREETING CA(RDS)”. The people go about there business as Danny flies up onscreen, completely invisible. He takes off to the top of the screen, his ghostly tail behind him.

Cut to Paulina, holding an open lipstick in one hand and holding a mirror in another, looking at her pursed, pink lips. She puts down her lipstick, annoyed, as Bertrand hovers in behind her, smiling with his hands clasped. Paulina closes her eyes.

PAULINA: Do you mind? (turns to Bertrand, her hair is in the mirror) I was here--

She looks up with her eyes popping in surprise.

PAULNIA: (scared) --first?

She runs off as Bertrand roars with his clawed hands out and all his sharp teeth showing. The background becomes a red action background. Bertrand swings his head side-to-side with his tongue flapping and ectoplasmic, green spit flying from his mouth.

Cut to the counter. There’s a lot of lipsticks and compacts on it next to Paulina. A shopping bag is near a rack of blushes and nail polishes. Paulina is a little scared at the sight, but the woman is completely frightened, her mouth gaping open and her fingers curled into fists near her head. Green spit droplets come toward them. The woman and Paulina close their eyes, raise their heads and shriek.

Cut to Danny Phantom flying in a dark blue-gray action background with his fists in front. He does a mid-air somersault and now has his legs outstretched in front, his fists clenched at his sides.

Cut to Bertrand with a big, fat belly, smiling as he hovers over Paulina and the lady, seen from the back. Danny plows feet-first into Bertrand and shoves him left offscreen. Paulina and the lady turn to Danny.

Cut to a rack of sunglasses labeled “SUNGLASSES”. There are signs with glasses and eyes on them. Bertrand falls into the shot from the right, coating the rack with his goopy green body and displacing many pairs. One pair lands on his eyes. Danny lands safely with his hands up, seen from the back, getting into a fighting stance. Bertrand oozes into a blob form on the floor.

Cut to Bertrand. He takes off the sunglasses to reveal his solid red eyes and growls.

Cut to Danny with a fist near his chin.

DANNY: I know you need your makeup, but you’re just (narrows his eyes) gonna have to wait your turn!

Cut to Danny and Bertrand with three pairs of sunglasses on the floor. Danny is standing in a stance, Bertrand waves his arm to smack him away, looking with a snooty expression. Danny grunts in pain as he is flung offscreen. Bertrand looks to the side as red and yellow stars appear from the left and dissipate.

Cut to a table with books, one with an alien on it. On the ceiling is a book with text reading “Book Sale”. Nearby are a shelf with a film reel on it and another with a sign reading “Music”. Danny is on the ground in an uncomfortable position, one leg bent over another bent through the tunnel of the first leg, one hand flat on a fallen book and one fist on the floor. There’s a red book on his head. Danny’s head turns to the left.

Cut to Bertrand. He tucks his arms by his side and charges a jagged-y ball of green energy. Pan right as the ball comes forward like a comet with rings behind it.

Cut to Danny, sitting down by the book counter and looking forward with his hands spread out in terror. Nearby a boy is looking at disks with a pair of headphones on, two people in the back are by a banner reading “Clearance” and the exit door. Some clothes are on the right. Danny flies over the counter and looks down with his legs in a splits as the energy ball fries the whole counter. Pages and books fly everywhere.

Cut to two dark-skinned boys by the music counter. One in a green shirt with a D medallion is wearing purple headphones and holding a red disk. The other is in a red hoodie and hat and holding a yellow disk. Signs read “Rock”, Hip Hop”, “Music” and Sale”. The one with the headphones puts a hand on one of them, leaning forward in shock and the other turns around in fear.

Cut to two girls by a clothes rack. Signs read Saleand “50%”. A girl with red hair and glasses is holding a brown shirt on her arm, looking at an Asian girl with black hair and pink earrings, seen from the back. She’s holding a tan shirt with both hands. The girls turn in shock and raise their hands, the Asian dropping her shirt.

Cut to Danny hovering. He dodges to the right as a green blast narrowly misses grazing him. He puts his hands over his head and ducks, looking up with one eye open as the shot goes over him.

Cut to a part of the store near the pharmacy. Tucker and Sam run up from the left as a bunch of other people run and scream in the other direction. Tucker and Sam look behind them, then turn forward.

Cut to Danny hovering in fear. Bertrand flies up and punches Danny down. Danny grunts in pain as the screen pans right-down over the aisles.

Cut to a rack of identical purple backpacks. There’s a sign above reading “Backpacks”. Danny plunges back-first into the rack, causing the backpacks to go flying. Three remain untouched. Danny falls and lands on the rack with his hands supporting him.

Cut to Bertrand.

BERTRAND: You’re not very good at this,--

Bertrand arches an eyebrow and puts out a hand.

BERTRAND: --are you?

Cut to Danny by the rack. He’s bending down with his hands down offscreen

DANNY: Yeah, well, (gets up) Maybe I don’t need to be to--

Close-up on Danny.

DANNY: --beat you!

Cut to Bertrand hovering over the floor of the pharmacy in front of the exit. A book, broken disks, and sunglasses are strewn on the floor. The doors smolder in the back. Bertrand turns with his arm across his body, then radiates a lot of green light as he swoops down to the floor and morphs into a large, carnivorous cat. The light vanishes in a few sparkles.

Close up on Bertrand’s red eyes. They narrow in a terrible glare as he growls.

Cut to Bertrand. He takes a few steps, and then pounces forward on a navy action background, his mouth open as he growls loudly.

Cut to Danny, looking scared. He braces himself and turns his lower body into a ghostly tail. He leans to the right offscreen as Bertrand comes in and bites a part of his ghostly body, smiling with a small rip of fabric in his teeth.

Many of us question the “left behind” fabric when Danny is clearly unscathed in the next shot. Of course, in the early days, morphing was still considered a power. And in those days, Danny could use it to get out of grasp like in PB with misting and in AotKGS when he uses his tail to fly out of the hair hornet’s cord loop.

Cut to a corner of the wall. Danny steps back into the corner with his hand to the wall, clutching his side and grunting in pain. He opens his eyes. Zoom out to reveal Bertrand.

DANNY: Then again…

Bertrand turns his head around.

TUCKER: (offscreen) Hey!

Cut to Tucker.

TUCKER: Get away from him!

Sam comes up. Tucker points a finger.

Cut to Danny in the corner with Bertrand. Bertrand flies offscreen with his ghostly body.

Cut to Tucker and Sam looking angrily at Bertrand, who flies into the shot from the right and lands, looking up at them with his tail waving. Tucker and Sam step back in fear.

Cut to Tucker as Bertrand’s face comes onscreen, growling with glee.

TUCKER: Or, don’t. (smiles weakly) Seriously, (shrugs and looks behind him) it’s open for (looks down at Bertrand, scared) discussion.

Cut to a shot. Danny pops up onscreen.

DANNY: No!

Danny takes flight, panning up as he flies forward and offscreen.

DANNY: You leave them alone!

Cut to another shot. Danny swoops around and down to the left.

Cut to Tucker, Sam and Bertrand. All three look to the left. Tucker and Sam brace themselves as Danny flies in from the left and tackles Bertrand offscreen. Tucker and Sam turn to the right, Tucker is smiling and Sam is concerned.

Cut to a navy action background. Danny is holding Bertrand in his arms. They tussle.

Cut to the floor. There some charring on it, loose leaf paper is on the floor and a pile of tapes, too. Danny lands with his back to the floor with Bertrand on top of him, his paws on Danny’s wrists. Danny grunts in pain.

Cut to Danny under the paws. He looks up and struggles as his fingers vibrate. His head moves side to side as he grunts with effort.

Cut to Bertrand with Danny beneath.

BERTRAND: Oh, look! The little (tilts his head aside) lo-ser ghost has a few (looks at Danny) baby (narrows his eyes) helpers!

Cut to Danny. Zoom in as his eyes pop open.

DANNY: Do-- (eyes twitch) --not-- (eyes narrow as he perspires) --call-- (closes his eyes and releases his fingers) --me- (chest vibrates as he shouts) A *LOSER*!

Here’s a clue, Danny. Who else calls you a loser and a baby? Spectra, of course.

Cut to Bertrand standing on top of Danny. Danny lifts his legs and kick Bertrand over his body.

Cut to a freezer. It reads “Soda”. Bertrand is knocked back-first and upside-down into the glass. He falls down leaving a shattered imprint.

Cut to the aisles. Danny flies up and back with two hands blazing green. He thrusts them forward and grunts with effort in one large green beam. He backs up a little as the beam increases intensity and becomes a white beam with green edges.

Cut to Bertrand in front of the freezer with the broken door that says “Soda Pop Stop” with the stop part in a stop sign. Bertrand jumps to the right out of the way as the blast destroys the whole freezer, with cans and orange-and-red bottles all over the floor on pink puddles, pink smoke billows from the wreck.

Cut to a fallen table with water on it. Bertrand peeks from behind it.

Cut to a pile of debris with pink smoke billowing from it. Zoom out to reveal the whole store with broken and fallen items. Tucker is looking down to the right, Sam down to the left. Danny is hovering in front of them and looking up behind him. They all turn forward.

Cut to Bertrand, sit/standing by a cracked table.

BERTRAND: Well, (bows his head) that’s enough damage (glows green) for one afternoon!

Bertrand morphs into a blob again. The light vanishes as he flies to the left.

Cut to the ceiling. Blinds are drawn. Bertrand phases through the ceiling and waves his hand.

BERTRAND: *Ta*!

Pan down the window to reveal a shocked Jasmine with her hands on the pane outside. She looks down to the left, then ducks out of view.

Cut to Tucker and Sam. Sam has a hand on her chin, Tucker is looking up behind him. Danny falls to the ground safely as Tucker looks at him. He puts a hand behind his neck.

TUCKER: I sure hope they’re insured.

Sam looks at Danny. Danny slumps over.

DANNY: *Great*.

Cut to Danny.

DANNY: He got away again. Another (raises his arms and looks in sarcasm) ringing endorsement (puts down his arms and looks behind him) for the town screw-up.

Danny flies away. Pan left to Tucker and Sam, looking up. They look at each other in disappointment.

Cut to the top of the building from outside. Danny comes up from the top and flies away with his ghostly tail behind him. Zoom out to reveal Jasmine from behind, looking at Danny.

Cut to Jasmine, now understanding. Zoom in.

Fade to FentonWorks. Zoom in.

Cut to Danny sitting alone at the kitchen table. His face is supported by his hand with the elbow on the table. Zoom in.

Fade to Danny, twirling his fork over his peas. He’s also eating a chicken leg, mashed potatoes, and a glass of milk. Some peas have rolled off the plate and onto the placemat.

This reminds me of a fairly recent Strong Bad E-mail. If you get over to a slumber party where they are having a meal at a table, with chicken in a pan, and some salad, and a glass of milk to drink, then you’d better start running, because that family has some serious health problems. Meep!

Cut to the doorway. Jasmine walks in.

Cut to Danny, still twirling his peas. He looks over at Jasmine, upset.

Cut to Jasmine. She blinks.

Cut to Danny.

DANNY: What?

Cut to Jasmine.

JASMINE: Nothing.

Jasmine walks to the right.

Cut to Danny at the table, holding his fork in front of his chicken as Jasmine walks up. She leans in and puts a hand on her chin to observe Danny. She pinches Danny on the arm, who wigs out in shock. Danny grabs his arm where Jasmine pinched it.

DANNY: What?!

Cut to Jasmine. She leans back a little and smiles.

JASMINE: Nothing. Uh,--

Jasmine puts down her arm and put another on her hip.

JASMINE: --so, uh, (clasps her hands together) Danny?

Cut to Danny, rubbing his arm.

JASMINE: (offscreen) I know I’ve been kind of hard on you lately.

Zoom out to reveal Jasmine sitting on the table by Danny’s milk. Danny puts his hand on his cheek.

JASMINE: But you know I think you’re great, right?

DANNY: Yeah, right. (looks down away from Jasmine) That’s not what I hear.

Jasmine lifts her hands. Danny looks to her.

JASMINE: Then you’ve heard wrong!

Cut to Jasmine.

JASMINE: Look, I know you think I’m pushy, (looks up behind her) and I’m a know-it-all, (smiles) I know you think (looks down to Danny) I can be a jerk sometimes…

Cut to Danny with his fist on his cheek, smug.

Cut to Jasmine. She arches her eyebrows.

JASMINE: You know, you can stop me at any time.

Cut back to a smug Danny.

DANNY: I know.

Cut to Danny and Jasmine.

Jasmine sighs. Danny stops smiling.

JASMINE: All I’m saying is (looks to Danny, smiling) I’m your sister, (puts out a hand) and I care about you.

Danny puts down his arm as Jasmine places one on his shoulder-chest area, raising the other by her.

JASMINE: And even though you don’t think I’ll understand--

Close-up on Jasmine. She narrows her eyes.

JASMINE: --you can talk to me about *anything*.

Close up on Danny. He looks down, ashamed.

Cut to Danny and Jasmine.

DANNY: Um…

A crash is heard. The screen rattles as Jasmine and Danny lift their arms and pop open their eyes.

Cut to a part of the kitchen over a counter. Smoldering is seen from in the next room. Danny and Jasmine run up and put their hands on the counter to see what it is.

Cut to a totally destroyed and charred piece of furniture. It’s smoldering. Zoom out to show Jack smiling and holding the Peeler with Maddie with her hand on her head. Jack turns to Maddie and lifts an arm toward the zapped object.

JACK: I’m just saying--

Cut to Jack.

JACK: --if we could (points over his shoulder with his thumb) find that ghost at Jazz’s school we (clasps the Peeler in both hands) could’ve peeled that ghost like an (turns to the left) onion!

Cut to Maddie.

MADDIE: Well we can’t *completely* vaporize it. Don’t you want to at least examine (shrugs) the remains?

In early episodes, the Fentons say a lot of nasty threats to ghosts, because most ghosts aren’t cared about for their feelings. I’m surprised Nick still aired it, but then again, they still air some fairly painful beatings where characters get shiners and crutches afterwards. Meep!

Of course, had the Fentons had the Peeler all the way back in SI… let’s just say Sidney wouldn’t have gone off so easily.

Cut to Jasmine and Danny. Danny is absolutely scared, and Jasmine is holding her hand on his shoulder. Danny looks down dejectedly. Then he gets angry. He lifts his arms away from Jasmine as she turns around in distress.

DANNY: I-I don’t feel like--

Danny turns around and leaves, Jasmine puts down her hand.

DANNY: --talking about it.

Cut to Jasmine, poignant.

JASMINE: Yeah, I’d imagine not.

Jasmine smiles.

Cut to Danny with his arms crossed. Jasmine is behind him. Jasmine walks up and gently takes Danny’s shoulders, kissing him on the back of the head. Then she walks off to the right. Danny turns her head to her. Zoom in. He lowers his eyebrows and smiles. Then his eyes turn to the camera in realization.

DANNY: Aw, *gross*!

Dennis agrees. Of course, when her sister kisses her, it’s for a bothering stunt. And she usually will do it three times in an unprecedented fashion. Danny, be happy your sister cares more than mine.

Fade to Casper High. The flag is blowing in the wind.

SAM: (offscreen) Um, is it me?

Zoom in.

Cut to the trio. Sam is seen from the back with a salmon book in one hand and the other on her him. Danny is holding an identical book and has his locker door in the other. Tucker is leaning on the lockers and is holding the same salmon book. Sam turns around.

SAM: Or is this--

Sam turns around, holding out her palm.

SAM: --the worst Spirit Week in the history of Casper High Spirit Weeks?

I’m guessing today is Wednesday, and Spectra’s got a big to-do planned. Of course, usually during a Spirit Week, high schools tend to make up strange things like “Pajama Day”, “Hero Day”, “Decades Day”, “Class Color Day”, or “School Color Day”. Why is no one in costume?

Cut to a shot of the hall. A banner overhead reads “SPIRIT WEEK!” in big burgundy letters. Six students are looking depressed and groaning, three carry the same salmon books and two are at their lockers. One boy walks with his shoulders slumped.

Cut to Dash and Kwan with their shoulders slumped and their hair messy.

DASH: Another day,--

Cut to Dash.

DASH: --another 24 hours closer to a career of pumping gas.

No one pumps gas anymore. Not often, anyway. Most pumps are automatic. Besides, gas stations are frequented by ghosts, ever since all the good haunts were taken.

Cut to Kwan.

KWAN: At least you’ll (puts out a palm) have a job! (slumps and looks down) Apparently I’m gonna end up a hobo!

His eyes pop open. Kwan puts his fists together vibrating and begins to cry.

KWAN: I didn’t know they *had* hobos anymore!

Cut to Paulina and Valerie. Paulina has disheveled hair and is clutching her face. Valerie is slumped over, tired, and holding her face in one hand while looking back to Paulina. They walk past Danny, Tucker and Sam. The three turn their heads as the girls pass.

PAULINA: Did you wrinkles can start emerging as early as your (eyes pop open) mid-twenties?

Cut to Danny, Sam and Tucker from the back. The three turn around. Sam puts a hand on her hip.

DANNY: And to make it worse, (looks to the left) we’re all gonna have to sit through Jazz’s idiotic speech (turns with a hand far out at his side) when she tries to put the (mockingly smiles and makes a thumbs-up) *I* back in Spirit! (slumps over again) or some other nonsense.

Cut to Jasmine holding an identical salmon-colored book, gleefully skipping as other depressed people watch in the background.

DANNY: (offscreen) What the heck is she so happy about?

Cut to the trio holding their books. Danny looks mad, Tucker and Sam look worried. They all look at Sam as she brings out her palm.

SAM: Don’t ask me.

Cut to Sam. She arches her eyebrow.

SAM: I’m usually the sour one around here, (points over her shoulder with her thumb) but compared to everyone else, (puts down her hand and smiles a dark smile) I’m the Goth bird of happiness.

So is Dennis. Well, she’s more the apathetic/robotic one. Slightly intimidating, too. But when everyone’s depressed, she actually looks happier. Meep?

Cut to Tucker, looking gleeful. He has one hand in his pocket. Danny’s arm is in the foreground.

TUCKER: Me too! (turns to Danny) And we’re the only two people in this school who *haven’t* had a session with Dr. Spectra.

Cut to Danny, looking depressed. He straightens up and his eyes pop open in realization.

DANNY: Wait a minute!

Danny reaches to the right offscreen and takes Tucker’s PDA, turning back to the left. Tucker leans into the shot.

DANNY: Let me see something.

Cut to the PDA in Danny’s hand. It’s full of static. Danny’s thumb presses a button and a picture of Danny in the ridiculously large top hat, sash and diaper is looking at four bystanders laughing, and blue mist is coming from his mouth.

TUCKER (offscreen) Uh,--

Close up on Danny and Tucker. Tucker is holding up a finger, Danny is looking down solemnly at the PDA.

TUCKER: --I was gonna delete that.

Tucker puts down his finger and makes a nervous smile.

DANNY: Glad you (rolls his eyes to look at Tucker) didn’t.

Danny and Tucker look down at the PDA.

DANNY: Look at that!

Cut to the picture in the PDA with Danny’s ghost sense going off.

DANNY: (offscreen) I kept thinking I was seeing my breath,--

The PDA goes to static, then a closer shot of the ghost sense appears on the PDA.

DANNY: --that it was cold.

Cut to Danny holding the PDA. Sam and Tucker look at Danny from behind him. Students walk in the background.

DANNY: But what if that’s my ghost sense?

Danny looks back to Tucker and Sam, the two look at Danny.

DANNY: What if Spectra is somehow making people *more* miserable?

Close up on Danny.

DANNY: What if… (arches his eyebrows) she’s a ghost?

Cut to Sam.

SAM: Only one way to--

Zoom in. Sam arches her eyuebrow and smiles.

SAM: --find out!

Cut to outside the door that reads “Penelope Spectra”. Tucker opens the door, Sam is standing next to him. Both are slumped over and miserable, Sam has disheveled hair

TUCKER: I *hate* my life.

Tucker puts down his hand as both he and Sam walk away.

SAM: I hate your life more.

Spectra walks out the door and puts her hand on the knob, wriggling her fingers on her other hand. Her hair is paler than usual.

SPECTRA: Buh-bye!

Cut to Spectra. Her hair is paler and wrinkles are visible on her cheeks, forehead and eyes. She leans forward and points up a finger.

SPECTRA: And remember, (leans back and waves her palm out) there’s only an (points up her finger) “I” in misery if you (turns to the door) spell it that way!

That line was a little weak on pep. You think she’s running out of witty puns?

She walks inside and slams the door. Zoom out to change the angle to reveal the sign that reads “Penelope Spectra”. Danny, invisible, creeps up with his fist up and his back facing the door. He turns to the door and phases inside with his ghostly tail following.

Cut to inside the office. Danny is phasing down through the door, where he floats quietly as he observes what goes on next. Zoom out to reveal Spectra standing with her hands up and a ring of wispy, green ghostly energy surrounding her.

Cut to Spectra. She opens her eyes and looks up at the ring of energy above her, taking it all in through her nose. She sighs as her body glows green with shine and sparkles, restored to its full vitality.

Cut to Spectra’s desk with three folders on it. She sits down on her desk.

SPECTRA: *Man*, that’s good!

She turns to the folders on her desk.

SPECTRA: I’m gonna miss these kids.

Cut to the folders. One shows a picture of Sam, reading “FILE: SAMANTHA MANSON” and has a red tab. There’s one over it reading “FILE: TUCKER FOLEY” with a photo of Tucker and a yellow tab. There are folders with a purple tab and a green tab beneath them. Spectra pushes Tucker’s folder aside.

Close-up on Spectra.

SPECTRA: They’re a waterfall of misery.

Cut to an aerial shot of Spectra. She looks to the wall as Bertrand in his blob form phases through it. She turns to the wall as Bertrand resumes his color.

Cut to Spectra.

SPECTRA: There you are! (smiles and raises her fists in glee) You hooked up the device?

Cut to Spectra from the back looking up at Bertrand hovering over her. Bertrand waves his arm down.

BERTRAND: Of course.

Cut to Bertrand. He clasps his hands together.

BERTRAND: And when the Spirit Sparklers go off (raises his arms out) vaporizing the only--

Bertrand closes his eyes and raises his palms in front of him.

BERTRAND: --chipper kid left in (waves down his hands) entire school--

Cut to an invisible Danny, completely shaken.

BERTRAND: (offscreen) --there’ll be enough misery and anguish in that room to--

Cut to Spectra, leaning over and smiling as Bertrand floats up to her with his fingers curled.

BERTRAND: --keep us looking young--

Spectra and Bertrand clasp their hands together in glee.

BERTRAND: --*forever*!

Cut to a farther shot of Spectra and Bertrand so an invisible Danny is in the shot, seen from the back. Spectra looks up in shock and Danny turns around suddenly as the bell rings.

Cut to Bertrand and Spectra. Spectra puts a hand on her hip.

SPECTRA: Well, there’s the bell!

Spectra puts her hands across her in a showing fashion as Bertrand puts a finger to his mouth.

SPECTRA: Shall we go hear a speech,--

Spectra and Bertrand lean in to each other and clasp each other’s hands.

SPECTRA: --and bum some more kids out?

Spectra and Bertrand turn white and glow all green with energy.

Cut to Danny hovering invisibly over the two glowing ghosts, seen from the back. Pan left as the energy streams through the wall. Danny flies onscreen and lands, resuming his color.

Cut to Danny. Zoom in.

DANNY: *Jazz*!

Fade to the school gym. There’s a banner over the door reading “SPIRIT WEEK”. Kids are sitting in the bleachers. Pan out to show four cheerleaders with pom-poms.

CHEERLEADERS: (half-heartedly) Two. Four.

Cut to the Cheerleaders. Pan across them. One is dark-skinned with a large, dark brown bun. The next is fair-skinned with two yellow-orange pigtails. The third is a red-head with a short hairdo and a pigtail on the top of her head. The last one has long, brown hair with a red headband. All have red-and-white pom-poms with red-and-white uniforms that look like the reverse colors of Danny’s shirt. They are all slumped over with eyes closed.

CHEERLEADERS: Six. Eight.

Just as a random observation, the third cheerleader reminds me of Vid of the Master’s Blasters. Hey, they had to be someone, and if she was a cheerleader, it would explain her agility and bad attitude like the other Blasters. Meep!

Lancer walks up into the foreground as all the girls look up at him.

LANCER: *Hey*!

Cut to Lancer over the heads of the girls. The Spirit Week banner is behind him.

LANCER: (eyes shifting over them) What’s the matter with you kids? You call *that* a cheer?

Lancer bends down. Zoom out as he stands up straight and smiles with a pair of pom-poms, the brunette and the girl with pigtails look up at him from the back.

Cut to Jasmine at a white podium with a red C on it. A red banner above her reads “Go!! Casper” in white letters. In front is a huge array of standing dominoes, on each side are two blue dishes. Lancer jumps in from the right with his two pom-poms.

LANCER: (jumping in the air) We’ve got the spirit, (lands and thrusts to the right) yes we do!

Lancer performs a high leg kick, then jump up in the air again on the left.

LANCER: We’ve got the spirit,--

He lands, kicks his leg, then shoves his butt in front of the students.

LANCER: --how about you?!

Cut to a crowd of students at the bleachers. They all look depressed and are frowning. Some have their chins in their hands. Crickets chirp. Pan right across to show Kwan and Dash and other kids, all very miserable.

Cut to Jasmine at the podium.

JASMINE: O-kay…

Cut to Bertrand walking in the hallway in his human form, his hands behind him. He looks up and smiles.

BERTRAND: After we’ve destroyed everything, (clasps his fists together) you up for a cappuccino?

Cut to Spectra and Bertrand walking by. Spectra is wearing sunglasses. She raises her hands.

SPECTRA: Ooh, that’s a (turns a little a puts a hand on her chest) marvelous idea!

The setting suddenly darkens as Bertrand is knocked away by a green ectoplasmic energy blast, grunting in pain. Spectra braces herself in shock. She looks to where Bertrand was knocked to.

Close up on Spectra from the back. She turns her head.

Cut to Danny floating in the hallway with one hand blazing green.

DANNY: I (hands stops blazing) figured it out, finally.

Cut closer to Danny. He raises a fist.

DANNY: You feed on misery, don’t you?

Cut to Spectra with one hand on her hip and the other on her glasses. She looks over them.

SPECTRA: I’m sorry, (puts out a hand) can I help you?

Cut to Danny.

DANNY: No, (lowers his eyebrows in seriousness) I’m sure you can’t.

Cut to Spectra, stunned.

DANNY: (offscreen) You can’t help anyone--

Spectra smiles and raises her glasses over her eyes.

DANNY: --except yourself.

Spectra puts down her arm.

Cut to Danny, floating from the back. Spectra is looking at him. She bends down as Danny spreads out his arms, taking flight offscreen as Spectra steps forward and almost grabs him. She puts down her arms and looks over her sunglasses, annoyed, looking back to Danny, who floats down behind her.

DANNY: You find that *one* thing that a kid’s most afraid of.

Cut to Spectra from the back. She looks up over her shoulder and smiles evilly.

DANNY: (offscreen) Their future.

She turns around and crosses her arms.

Cut to Bertrand with one knee on the ground. He gets up and holds the sides of his black jacket.

DANNY: (offscreen) Their looks.

Cut to Danny, looking down as he hovers.

DANNY: Their confidence.

He looks down at himself with realization, then leans upward in the air.

DANNY: And you pick at it--

Close up on Spectra with her evil smile. She arches her eyebrow.

DANNY: (offscreen) --and pick at it--

Cut to Danny in the air.

DANNY: --while your snippy little ghost assistant--

Danny looks back and points a thumb over his shoulder.

DANNY: --feeds on it!

Cut to a row of lockers. Bertrand steps into the scene.

BERTRAND: *Hey*!

Cut to Spectra, gleefully clapping her hands while Danny floats in the foreground.

SPECTRA: Very good!

Cut to Spectra. She puts down her hands and leans forward, opening her eyes to reveal them to be a gradient red. Zoom out to show Spectra in a red-tinted hallway with a ring of purple fire around her, the fire has a green aura.

SPECTRA: But I fear you’ve--

Spectra crouches down, the fire ring spreads into a low rings of smoke.

SPECTRA: --missed a few--

She stands up and morphs into a black, spectral shape with purple and green smoke billowing around her, green energy from her hands connect from the smoke on the floor.

SPECTRA: --details!

Close up on Spectra with her jagged-toothed smile. Her head bends down in a dramatic way.

Cut to Spectra on the floor with the ring of purple smoke and her hands glowing green. She flies into the air with a red action background.

Cut to Danny, scared as he is bent over and looking down. He yelps out and bends his back straight, turning to the right. Bertrand in his cougar form pounces from the right and grabs Danny, forcing him offscreen. Spectra floats up in a stance with her hands glowing green.

Cut to a bulletin board with flyers of all sorts on it. Danny and Bertrand phase through it, both are an intangible blue.

Cut to an aerial shot of the gym. People are in the bleachers, bored and depressed. Lancer is standing by the array of dominoes. Jasmine is at the podium giving her speech. The Go!! Casper banner is behind her, and the blue dishes are on either side of the stage. Zoom in slowly.

JASMINE: (with the microphone) In this, our centennial year--

Cut to Jasmine at the podium, smiling.

JASMINE: (with the microphone) --we pay tribute to the past with these--

Zoom out to show the dominoes in the foreground, Jasmine looks up.

JASMINE: --ceremonial dominoes.

She waves out a palm and looks down.

JASMINE: Each of which will fall into the next and--

Cut to Jasmine. She points upward.

JASMINE: (with the microphone) --and finally trigger the ceremonial--

Cut to a blue dish. The end receptor sparkles.

JASMINE: (with the microphone) --Spirit Sparklers!

Cut to Lancer, shifting his eyes. He raises his arms up high.

LANCER: (half-heartedly) Woo! (smiles)

Cut to the bleachers. The crowd of students are all bored and depressed. Some blink. Crickets chirp.

Cut to Lancer with his arms raised by the array of dominoes. He lowers his arms, irked. He bends down with a finger out.

Cut to Lancer’s finger by the array of dominoes, each having an assorted number of white dots on each side. He pushes the first one and they begin to fall down in a column.

Cut to a domino. Pan back to the row of dominoes behind it as they fall in sequence.

Cut to outside the school; a brick wall. There’s some shrubs nearby. The whole scene is tinted red. Danny and Bertrand phase through the wall in an intangible blue, Bertrand has his mouth open in Danny’s face and is roaring.

Cut to a tree trunk. Bertrand slams Danny back-first into it, holding Danny by the shoulders while Danny holds Bertrand by the arms. They resume full color as Danny grunts in pain. Danny pops his eyes open in surprise.

Cut to Bertrand. Danny is holding his arms.

BERTRAND: You thought you were going to stop us? *You*?

Close-up on a determined Danny in Bertrand’s clutches.

BERTRAND: (offscreen) You’re just a--

Danny tilts his head.

BERTRAND: --frightened--

Danny looks forward.

BERTRAND: --little kid!

Cut to Danny on the tree being held by Bertrand. Pan up as Bertrand raises his paw with sharp claws, the background becomes a red action background.

Cut to Bertrand’s claws. They swoop down in slow motion.

Cut to Danny on the tree with one claw on his shoulder. He braces himself and turns invisible, phasing through the tree as the claw scratches the bark of the tree in slow-motion.

You know, when this episode first aired (the time when Dennis was still skeptical of DP’s quality due to newness, but found a liking to it), she was rooting for Danny to phase intangibly through the tree and evade being scratched. When she was right a few seconds later, she felt some serious elation.

Cut to Bertrand with his arm under his chin, confused. He looks to the right.

Cut to a full shot of Bertrand. He puts down his arm and looks up, then forward.

Cut to the ground. Danny phases through it in an intangible blue and points a fist at the screen.

Onomatopoeia shot. It reads FWAM! In big, orange letters on white and purple.

Cut to the building. Bertrand flies up in the air as he is knocked back. Danny floats in an intangible blue with his thermos strapped behind his back. He resumes full color as he watches Bertrand fall on the other side of the building.

Cut to Danny. He yelps out as Spectra flies in front behind him and wraps her arm around his neck in a chokehold, pulling the two away from the camera. Spectra swoops downward offscreen with Danny.

Cut to Danny, looking up at Spectra while in a chokehold. He closes his eyes to yell.

DANNY: Let go of me!

Does a chokehold count as a neck-hold?

He looks up at Spectra.

SPECTRA: Why would--

Pan up to Spectra.

SPECTRA: --I do that? Your doubt, your misery! (closes her eyes with delight) It’s *delicious*!

Cut to the building over the cars in the parking lot, the football field in the back. Spectra floats onscreen from the left holding Danny.

SPECTRA: And the best part is--

Cut to the dominoes. They fall over in a curve.

SPECTRA: (offscreen) --as soon as that--

Pan right to another curve of dominoes falling over.

SPECTRA: --silly speech is over--

Cut to the array of dominoes falling column by column, up one row and down the next, reading “CAS- PI”. Pan right over it.

SPECTRA: (offscreen) --and that last domino falls--

Zoom in on the last domino in the corner.

SPECTRA: (offscreen) --and the Sparklers--

Pan down quickly to a large, red button on a white box.

SPECTRA: --vaporize--

Cut to Jasmine, looking down and smiling

SPECTRA: (offscreen) --the speaker, we’ll leave you here to take the--

Zoom out fast to show all of Jasmine at the podium with the two blue dishes overhead.

SPECTRA: --blame!

Cut to Spectra holding Danny in a chokehold through the glass window. Her eyes are wide and one hand is up.

SPECTRA: And by the time I’m--

Spectra looks at Danny evilly as she tucks her hand to her chest, Danny grabbing her arm to remove it with all his effort.

SPECTRA: --done with you,--

Spectra takes a deep breath as Danny stops trying, now looking bored.

SPECTRA: --you’ll be sure it was (raises her chin) all your (looks at Danny) fault!

Cut to Danny.

DANNY: Man, I am (closes his eyes) so tired of you (opens them) dumping on me! And I am so (closes his eyes and looks up) tired of (looks down at himself, dejected) dumping on myself!

He quickly looks to the right.

Cut to Jasmine at the podium, smiling.

DANNY: (offscreen) Jazz never--

Zoom in on her.

DANNY: --did that--

Cut to Danny in Spectra’s grasp, her hands glowing with green energy as they hold his arms restrained.

DANNY: (looking to Spectra) --even when I was mad at her. And I--

Cut to Danny, bracing himself.

DANNY: (opening his eyes) --let her--

Cut to a far shot of Danny being held by Spectra. She is knocked away as the screen becomes a red action background and a pair of blue-white rings pass over Danny’s body with a huge flash of light from his middle.

DANNY: --*DOWN*!

There’s a lot of people who question this “non-transformation”. Dennis thinks it’s somewhat like a shield; later in CF he manages to make a ball shield just like it.

Cut to Danny. He turns around to the left, looking up and gritting his teeth.

Cut to some trees. Spectra is knocked back and then turns to continue a flight pattern. She turns toward the camera among them.

SPECTRA: (putting her hands to her mouth) Bertrand!

She lifts her arm above her and one behind her as they blaze green, pointing one far in front of her.

SPECTRA: *Sic ‘im*!

Cut to the base of a brick wall. Bertrand the cougar phases through with an intangible blue color, growling and pouncing into the air.

Cut to Danny, looking to the right. He turns to the right and looks down.

Cut to Bertrand flying up through the air on a red action background. He morphs and tumbles in a round, hollow ball as he transforms into a ninja-like shape with a flash of light.

Cut to Danny. His expression turns from ready-to-fight to bored.

Cut to a tree branch. Bertrand lands on it with his knees bent. He reaches behind him.

Cut to a red action background with Bertrand’s hand holding a pair of green nunchucks.

Cut to Bertrand. He spins the nunchucks on the right of him, then changes hands to the left of him, then spins it over his shoulder to continue spinning it on the left, then puts it in the hand on his right side and uses the other hand to make a two-finger stance.

Cut to Danny, bored.

DANNY: I *so* don’t have time for this.

Pan down to Danny’s body. He takes the thermos from behind his back, takes off the cap, and a blue beam comes out.

Cut to Bertrand. He puts a hand over his face as the blue beam envelops him.

BERTRAND: No!

Cut to Bertrand in the blue beam. He is about to be sucked toward the source of the beam, his form and nunchucks being sucked to the left.

BERTRAND: *NOOOOO*!

Bertrand’s form stretches into a formless thing. Pan to Danny holding the thermos with the beam coming out. Bertrand stops screaming as the beam is absorbed into the thermos. Danny smiles as he caps it, then floats straight with his hand on his hip, shaking the thermos so it rattles.

Finally caught the one that got away, huh? Took four tries. The open, the wasp, the pharmacy, and now. Congratulations.

Cut to Spectra, her mouth gaping wide. She bends her shoulders up.

SPECTRA: You’re through!

She flies offscreen.

Cut to a red action background. Spectra comes forth with her arms in front, fingers curled and ready to grab.

Cut to Danny with his knees bent in a ready stance. He turns his legs into a tail and flies up offscreen as Spectra flies through the place he was.

Cut to Danny. He flies up and swoops around and down offscreen with a hand in front.

DANNY: And you’re done telling me--

Cut to Spectra’s black ghostly tail.

DANNY: (offscreen) --what (grabs Spectra’s tail with a white-gloved fist) to do!

Cut to Spectra, flying in a red action background. She widens her eyes in surprise as she is pulled back.

Cut to a few trees by buildings and a mesh fence. Danny flies in onscreen and grunts with effort as he flings Spectra down.

Cut to a dumpster. Spectra flies hands-first into it, then the lid slams down on her.

Add that to the count of times people were flung into dumpsters.

Cut to Danny, looking down with pride at accomplishment. Suddenly, he gasps and turns intangible.

DANNY: *Jazz*!

Cut to the wall. Danny phases through it.

Cut to the red button. In slow motion, a domino with a one on both sides (snake eyes) falls onto the button and presses it. A buzzer sounds.

Cut to the blue dish. It glows all red as a red ball of energy glows on the receptor site, increasing intensity. Soon, the whole screen is a red action background with the device silhouetted.

Cut to an alarmed Danny flying down invisibly at record speed on a red action background. Zoom in.

Cut to Jasmine, looking up clueless at the podium. In slow motion, an invisible Danny at high speed, causing Jasmine to be held up in the air and fly offscreen with Danny.

Cut to the receptor site of the dish. It sends out a red beam.

Cut to the other dish. It also sends out a beam.

Cut to an aerial shot of the podium with the banner behind it. The two beams vaporize the podium and char the stage with a large black, smoldering burn mark.

Cut to a brick wall. It’s a dark, calm blue. Danny phases himself and Jasmine in his arms through the wall. Jasmine looks at Danny.

Cut to a hallway full of cardboard boxes and giant drums. There is a door that reads “STORAGE”. Danny flies in and puts Jasmine on the ground, then resumes full color and lands next to her. Jasmine looks surprised.

Cut to Jasmine. She blinks.

Cut to Danny. He smiles. Suddenly, two black arms come from behind and grab him by the shoulders. Danny grunts in pain, then screams as he is pulled away.

Cut to the inside of the door. There is a switch and a stack of boxes next to it. Spectra pushes open the door from the other side with Danny in a chokehold, Danny holding his hands on Spectra’s arm. She flies offscreen.

Cut to a brick wall. Spectra shoves Danny back-first into the wall, holding him by the chin and top of the head. Danny grunts in pain. Spectra looks down at him.

SPECTRA: Look at you!

Danny thrusts out the thermos, and Spectra looks at it, irked. She knocks it away with a metallic clang. Danny puts down his arms as Spectra puts her hand back on his chin.

SPECTRA: What are you?

Close up on Danny.

SPECTRA: (offscreen) A ghost--

Danny closes his eyes, angry.

SPECTRA: --trying to--

Danny opens his eyes, shocked.

SPECTRA: --fit in with humans?

Danny looks up, serious.

Close-up on Spectra.

SPECTRA: Or some creepy--

Zoom in and rotate slowly.

SPECTRA: --little boy with *creepy* little powers?

Cut to the doorway. Jasmine runs inside, angry.

Close-up on Danny in Spectra’s hands.

DANNY: Both! (looks away, awkward) Uh, (looks at Spectra, awkwardly) neither! (closes his eyes, shouting) I don’t know!

Dennis could say that in this episode, you were the latter. She has a “dual/merged” personality theory, in the first episodes Danny was just Danny Fenton with ghost powers, and Danny Phantom was just Danny’s ghost-fighting alias. In the “dual” theory of later episodes, Danny Fenton is a messed-up kid and Danny Phantom is a reckless ghost-fighting teen, see IC. In the “merged” theory, Danny has become so comfortable with his ghost identity that the two are one and the same; Danny Fenton can be brave and cunning while Danny Phantom can be awkward and insecure.

In this episode, Danny was fully Danny Fenton the whole time, even in his ghostly form. And he was being depressed and angry because his ghost powers kept getting in the way when Jasmine tried in investigate. But there are episodes where Danny’s ghost half is prevalent over the human half, so it focuses more on how his ghost half is more hated, as in “Ghost trying to fit in with humans”. Meep!

Cut to a full shot of Danny in Spectra’s clutches.

SPECTRA: You’re a *freak*! (tilts her head back) Not a ghost, (looks down at Danny as he glows all green) not a boy!

Rings of green ghostly energy run down her body. She then drops Danny, who falls offscreen.

SPECTRA: Who cares for a thing--

Cut to Danny on the ground, seen from the back. Spectra drifts down to look at him, he looks at her

SPECTRA: --like you?!

Cut to Spectra, seen from the back. She turns around suddenly.

JASMINE: (offscreen) Excuse me.

Cut to Danny. Stars, circles and squiggles pop around him, he’s dazed. He looks up suddenly.

Cut to Jasmine in the doorway.

JASMINE: I don’t--

She waves her palm aside and closes her eyes.

JASMINE: --know this kid, (puts down her arm) but I hope it’s okay if he gets (lifts up the Peeler) a second opinion.

I thought Jasmine hated ghost fighting. How did she get the Peeler so quickly if she didn’t bring it to school with her?

Cut to the Peeler. Jasmine presses a red button on the back of the device. The three green lights charge and glow.

Cut to a farther shot of the Peeler in Jasmine’s arm. A metal bracelet covers her whole hand. Door open on the top of the band and a cable comes out, along with two metal cables from the bottom.

Cut to Jasmine’s shoulder. The metal armor creeps up her arm, forms shoulder blades and a chest protector, then creeps down her other arm.

Cut to Jasmine’s legs. A band like the first comes down on her arm, and metal underwear sprouts from nowhere around her legs.

Cut to Jasmine’s head, looking down at her chest armor. She looks up.

JASMINE: This is weird.

Cut to Jasmine’s feet. Armored metal boots with rivets on the ankles cover her feet.

Cut to the top of Jasmine’s head. Sheets of metal come together to form a helmet with a window protecting the face, reading “FENTON PEELER” on the forehead.

Cut to Jasmine’s back, covered in the armor. Two cables protrude from stud in the back. Two more cables come up from the front and creep around the back to join two more studs with a metallic clang.

Cut to Jasmine’s armored hand holding the original device. A laser comes up from the top of the band, bringing out a more tapered part. It’s heard charging. Zoom out to show Jasmine fully in the Peeler. She is brought into shadow as a beam of green light comes from the laser.

I have to commend Jack Fenton for adaptable devices. Dennis thinks that a non-cartoon-made device would only be designed for one user, Jack Fenton. With his unique body shape, it wouldn’t fit anyone else.

Cut to Spectra, her green mouth gaping wide in shock. She screams as the green beam overcomes her.

Cut to a full shot of Spectra in the beam. Her black, ghostly lair strip away to reveal the normal, human form of Spectra.

Cut closer to Spectra. She puts up her arms and continues to shriek without moving her lips, sounding older with each peeling. She puts down her arms and looks up at her head as sparkles pop around her and the next layer peels off from the top, revealing a more tired Spectra with paler hair. The next layer peels to reveal a closed-eyed Spectra with pale brown, disheveled hair. Then another layer peels away to show an old, wrinkled Spectra with dark gray hair. The last layer peels away to show a white-haired Spectra with even more age and wrinkles on her face.

Cut to Danny, looking up over his shoulder.

DANNY: Talk about having nothing within!

Cut to the old lady Spectra, who now has chicken legs and thin, droopy breasts. Green smoke smolders around her. Zoom out to show all of Spectra’s salmon-and-black layers around her feet with Danny looking at her, seen from the back, and Jasmine in the foreground. She clutches her face.

If you were watching the Peeling, you’d see that the only thing affected was Spectra’s face, her body was the same. But now her body changed.

Cut to Spectra. She raises her arms, screaming.

SPECTRA: Ah!

Spectra drops her arms and still looks up in desperation.

SPECTRA: Noooo!

She hunches her back and looks at her hands, which vibrate.

SPECTRA: I am *nothing* without my youth!

Certain ghosts are aged for millennia and they never get old. Obviously, when you manifested your powers to feed on misery, you grew dependent.

A bright blue beam engulfs the screen. Spectra is pulled toward the source of it, screaming.

Cut to Danny holding the thermos, where the beam is being sucked in. He looks down at it as a tiny, blue Spectra is pulled inside with the beam. A little excess energy flares out.

Cut to Jasmine in the Peeler armor, looking down smiling at her arm. She braces herself as the armor is brought back quickly into the Peeler. She looks down at it, smiling, and puts one hand on her hip.

JASMINE: *Hey*! It worked!

Jasmine looks confused at it, then turns to the right and walks off, smiling.

JASMINE: But it’s still weird.

Cut to Danny, holding the thermos. He looks to the left as Jasmine walks up with her hand to her mouth. Danny turns around, scared and clutching the thermos tightly.

Cut to Danny. He looks away, insecure.

DANNY: Uh, (looks to Jasmine) uh…

Cut to Jasmine, smiling. She looks down at Danny, then looks with realization.

JASMINE: (faking) Ahhhh!

Cut to Jasmine and Danny. Danny is looking at Jasmine, confused. Jasmine has her hands at her sides, then turns around while looking at Danny and raising her arms.

JASMINE: (faking) Ghoooost!

She walks off.

Cut to the doorway. Jasmine stops when she reaches it.

Cut to Jasmine. She looks over her shoulder and smiles.

JASMINE: You’d better go.

Jasmine turns to the right and runs out the door.

Cut to Danny in the supply room. He takes a breath of relief, a puff of smoke comes from his mouth. He turns around and takes a step into a stack of boxes, grunting in stupidity. He steps back and puts his hands over his eyes as small gold stars pop around his head. Then he drops his arms.

DANNY: Oh, uh, right.

Danny turns around and looks up, turning intangible.

Cut to Jasmine peeking around the door, watching her intangible brother fly up and phase thought the ceiling with his ghostly tail behind him. Pan left as she turns around, looking to the door.

JASMINE: He can tell me when he’s ready.

What an understanding personality. A non-understanding mean older sister would’ve blabbed straight like she did in PP. Sigh.

Jasmine’s wyes pop to the left as Lancer is heard.

LANCER: (offscreen) Miss Fenton?

Cut to Lancer skipping down the hallway with a white and a red pom-pom in each hand. Jasmine looks at him from the foreground.

LANCER: You’re needed.

Cut to Jasmine, looking up at Lancer who is skipping onscreen. Jasmine suddenly pops with realization.

Cut to the gym. By the purple gym doors hangs a white banner that reads “RAVENS” in red letters.

CROWD: Jazz! Jazz!

The doors slide open, revealing Jasmine and Lancer.

Close-up on Jasmine. She smiles.

CROWD: Jazz! Jazz!

Cut to a crowd of spirited students in the bleachers, standing and pumping their arms.

CROWD: Jazz! Jazz! Jazz!

Pan across the gym and Spirit Week banner to the bleachers on the other side, where more kids are standing and arm-pumping.

CROWD: Jazz! Jazz!

The crowd yells this throughout. Cut to a part of the crowd, Tucker pops up on screen.

TUCKER: Hey, she’s okay!

Cut to a whole bunch of students, all raising their hands and cheering

Cut to more cheering students.

LANCER: (offscreen) Everybody’s mood has--

A kid puts his hands around his mouth and says “Wooo!”.

LANCER: --*lifted*.

Cut to another crown. Tucker and Sam are on either side of Danny, cheering. Danny’s just smiling.

LANCER: (offscreen) As if some gloomy malevolence has been--

Danny lowers his eyelids and waves.

LANCER: --shooed away.

When a ghost is gone or defeated, their work is usually undone. Luckily Spectra didn’t make too much of a mess, or their would be a lot of clean-up to do.

Cut to Lancer and Jasmine. Jasmine is smiling ecstatically, Lancer is looking down at Jasmine proudly.

LANCER: Your disappearing act worked marvelously.

Lancer looks up at the crowd. Both he and Jasmine wave.

LANCER: They’ve got their spirit back.

Fade to a night. A gate is visible with two round gold balls on on the posts. It reads “AMITY PARKin purple letters. Danny Phantom swoops in from the right, smiling placidly with his arms down by his sides and his ghostly tail behind him. Pan up-left as he swirls around the moon and flies up offscreen.

JASMINE: (offscreen) They’re not the only ones, Mr. Lancer.

Close-up on Danny with his hair blowing in the breeze.

JASMINE: They’re not the only ones.

Danny leans back and rolls in the air, turning over the city and flying over it with his arms out in front, swooping upward.

Cut to an open window with a pink room inside. Jasmine walks up to the pane and puts her hands on it, looking up at the sky.

Cut to Jasmine at the window from the back as she watches Danny fly in a zig-zag pattern over other houses. When he vanishes from view, she turns her back to the window and looks up through it, crossing her arms and smiling.

Iris out.
