Striker's Music

Music is just on of my talents, hobbies, and hopefully something I will do in my future career. I've been doing compositions for awhile and still have a lot to learn. Check out a lot of my music on this page. Share with friends.

Some Playable Tunes:
Don't Hate On Me (Practice Version) Composed with Sibelius, this is my second Jazz composition on sheet music that can be played with a small jazz band. Written in a 3/4 time signature, this is a moderately fast swinging jazz waltz in Bb minor. Its a straight forward 16-bar piece that will just loop over and over again for performers to improvise solos over the rhythm before ending the piece. When reading the sheet music, repeat the first ending over and over as the 2nd ending is only played the final time (and is also just one note).
The practice version MP3 begins with a 16-bar intro (8 bars of bass + 8-bars of bass and drums), then goes through the whole thing twice. Following that will only be rhythm and will allow you 32-bars to play the tune or to practice a solo over before going back through the tune again, both first and second ending this time.
Walking Traditionally (Practice Version) Composed with Sibelius, this is my first Jazz composition on sheet music that can be played with a small jazz band. As the name implies, this piece features a walking bass line to a moderate swing. Although the bass plays quarter notes, those note should be played hard, like accents, to define each beat like a foot hitting  the ground when walking. Instrumental players should take note of the melody in this sheet music. The eighth notes should be swung legato and the differences between the first and second endings should be noted. On the final time through, the piece should end with a fermata on the whole note of measure 10.
This MP3 will give a 4 beat count and starts once through the first and second ending. after that are 32-bars of rhythm section to allow for a solo of to simply practice the melody over. The song plays once more through the first and second ending.
