It should only seem natural that a church renowned for their music would spawn an offshoot such as The Joyful Noise Café.
With the many multi-talented people already associated with the church, as well as talented friends from outside the immediate
church family, the Joyful Noise Café provides an additional outlet at which any and all, are able to share their diverse gifts.
The Joyful Noise Café is an evening of family fun, food and fellowship, all in a Christian environment. The church was already
equipped with the perfect facilities for just such an event. They are held in the church's Fellowship Hall, which is similar to
an elementary school gymnasium, complete with an attached stage. Fellowship Hall will comfortably hold 200+ people and has an
attached commercial kitchen. The night of the event, the folks at the church team up together to provide an optional low cost
meal, complete with extraordinary deserts and a choice of beverages. Most nights you can even enjoy listening to some wonderful
piano music while you eat. The meals have varied from a springtime barbecue to kick off the season, to some delicious chicken
riggies complete with the fixings. Of course there is always options for the kids as well.
After a prayer and the breaking of bread, the entertainment portion of the evening gets under way. While many of the people
who share their gifts could pass for professionals (and some have had professional experience), most are talented people from
in and around the area. We have had everything from retired pastors performing standup routines or reciting moving stories,
to youngsters performing short skits they themselves had written. We’ve had a women’s barbershop quartet, soloists playing
guitar or piano and singing, a father/daughter duet, two young brothers performing the blues, and people doing readings. We
have had an 11 year old girl who came out of the audience to do an impromptu a cappella song and many more too numerous to
mention. One recurring act is a group we call The Joyful Noise Boys. Performing everything from old time Gospel Bluegrass
complete with four part harmonies, to their own arrangements of standard hymns and everything in between, the Joyful Noise
Boys have become a crowd favorite. The night ends with everyone standing together to sing Let There Be Peace On Earth. Every
one of these events is different from the next, but you can always expect to
leave fulfilled.
