The Story

Musical Chairs.

It was all because of Dan Silver.....
The man was the quintessential Beatles guitar virtuoso. Amazing.
He and drummer Jim Krikorian had a Beatles tribute band growing nicely with Jim's second-cousin-once-removed's daughter's husband bassist Chris McElroy......
(huh?.... okay, let's just say Jim has a big family?)

Christo, being the ambitious man that he is, wanted more. He threw a big wrench into the works - he wanted some keyboards in the mix as well. Having a few kicking around the house, he decided he would haul 'em out and play 'em. Why not, right?

Big problem though..... Who will play the bass then?

Enter Steve Strandberg, a mild-mannered manager from Christo's office, he could deliver a nice fat bottom end..... Oh Yeah, That'll work!

But Steve had plans that weekend..... the Cape Cod Canal was calling, someone had to inspect it and verify it's position and viability. It was an annual endeavor which required overnight camping supplimented with an occasional beer. Tough work you see.

After a full day of canal management, enjoying an after-hours brew with his fellow campers by the fire, the beer began to assert itself.....

"Say George, I've got this new band project....."
"Really?", guitarist George Burgess engages. A wonderfully memorable conversation then ensued in the following 20 seconds, immediately followed by..... well..... "Anybody need another?"

Weeks later, an email frenzy began..... "Huh? What band"... "Oh Yeah, I remember now"..... and eventually culminated in a tentative meeting on a crisp fall Thursday night.

So Dan, Jim, and Christo finally met Steve and George.....
So many guys, so many instruments, so many tunes..... SO LITTLE TIME!

A storm was brewing though..... Dan began a health battle.
He needed to spend time on Dan.
Much loved, this fixture had large shoes to fill - very large electric shoes.
George tried, but failed.

After auditioning several prospective guitarists, it was realized that the drummer, Jim Krikorian, was running through the tunes with these guys on HIS guitar - another multi-instrumental guy. Turns out, THIS GUY plays WAY too many instruments. Hmmmm.....
"Why not have Jim play guitar too?"
"Good idea! But..... Who will play drums then?"

Christo knew exactly what to do.
He dragged Jackie Deletti over, kicking and screaming, one fateful night and this man was instantly absorbed by the fray - a talented kit drummer who can also rumble the congas, the bongos, the djembe, well anything he could reach. Now there was suddenly a syncopated time option with Jim on the kit, or a solid beat with Jackie all my himself.

What an interesting mess... and it was all Dan Silver's fault!

REST IN PEACE  DAN.
We miss you man!

Then in December, Steve Strandberg, cherished member of the band, played his last gig with us.
With great regret, he bowed out due to time concerns. His wife Debbie and newborn son Nicholas will most surely benefit from his absence from our noise. He is, and will seriously continue to be, missed. Thanks Steve! Good luck!
