Cyberspace and Society
Fall, 2009
Gina
Agugliaro is a Childhood Studies major and works for a
chiropractor. She didn't specify her interest for a class
project, but it might have to do with children's internet use or with
health care. Gina, you didn't click the box giving me the access
to edit your site. It is better if the text wraps around the
pictures.
Katelyn
Barnard is studying sociology and special education.
She is interested in seeing how technology can enhance the quality of
schooling for our world youth.
Tricia
Blake
is a biology major who is passionate about animals. Maybe she
would be interested in looking at artificially intelligent pets?
Rachel
Boeske is an accounting and criminal justice major who plans to
join the police academy. For her project she would like to work
on cyberspace technology in the military.
Chanel
Calloway works for the Center for Family Guidance in Trenton on the
night shift. She is interesting in how technology influences
parenting.

to look into peripherals and input mechanisms involved in gaming and
how they are developing the experience of the interactive media.
Shantina Cintron is in her last year as a criminal justice major
and plans to go into law enforcement. She went to South Africa
and to Havana with groups from Leap Academy and Rutgers. There are
travel pictures on her site. She is interested in research on
Apple and the iPhone. Sounds like she might have a career in
marketing?
Rose Dow
is a Childhood Studies major and is interested in the impact of social
networking on the
way adolescents and teenagers socialize and interact with family,
friends,
teachers, and employers.
Ciwy Fogelson
starts her site with an impressive photo montage. Does Google
Sites offer that feature? She is a psych major interested
in the
blogging phenomenon and how people use it. She met her boyfriend
online.
Daniala
Gardner is a history major and plans to teach history in high
school. She plans to work on naval archeology for a class project.

justice and works in asset protection as Sam's Club.

hostage situations or in other law enforcement work.

of the internet.

development. She works with developmentally delayed children.

money playing poker.
He is into music, television and movies. He is interested in the
work of Luis Von Ahn, the inventor of the Catchpa.
Aaron
Mitchell is a sociology and criminal justice major and an Air
National Guard security forces major. He doesn't mention a topic
interest for the course, but security would be a good fit.
Tanisha
Rogers says most people call her TanRahj which is a combination of
her first and last names. I think it sounds like she is a
Maharaja. She works for the Camden Board of Education and got
engaged a year ago.
Laura
Mae Ruoff is a Nursing major with an interest in the history of
computing. Laura, you would enjoy the movie Triumph of the Nerds
which can now be found on YouTube.
Jennifer
(Skyler) Samulis is a blogger and interested in social
networking. She did her page in Google Sites instead of in
Documents which doesn't permit sharing in the same way. It is OK
for this purpose, but I can't edit or make corrections. Jennifer,
how about giving us a link to your blog?
Kate Sampson
is an art major specializing in graphic design. She is interested
in social networking sites and created a Facebook page for
the Rutgers Camden Impact Booth two years ago as a marketing
project.
Jessica Schwartz is, I think, the first student to mention her
mother and father. How about giving the grandparents a
mention? [I am a grandfather with one grandson in college.]
She is interested in working on something relating to exploitation,
abduction, abuse, etc. of children and young people by adults using the
internet.

as well has having a 4 year old brother. She doesn't mention a
research interest, but she has interests in children and in some of the
internet media.
Love
Thompson
says
she seems shy at first, but she's a fun loving girl
with a great sense of humor. She is majoring in psychology and
minoring in sociology and childhood studies, but hopes to go into
nursing later on.
Chris
Velazco resembles Rodin's The Thinker in the photograph on his
page. He's an English and marketing major
and describes himself as an "unabashed geek". He recommends
Gizmodo and Boy Genius Report as sites that take a lighthearted
approach to covering technology. He has two interests for this
class: how changes in mobile technology affect the way everyday
social and business interactions are handled, and how the pervasiveness
of internet culture has changed the English language. Sounds like
an interesting guy to collaborate with.

is a senior sociology major and an avid vegetarian and a big music
fan.
Alexton
Walters is a senior psychology major with an interest in
comics. There are some interesting graphics on his page, I'm not
sure if he drew any of them himself.
