Could it be that God is working things in your life just so he can show you just how much he loves you? Yes indeed. I believe it's no accident that you are reading this. Whether or not you have a background influenced by Christianity as I do, God wants you to be part of His family and reap the eternal rewards.
God loves you no matter what you have done in your life. God is not mad or angry at you for anything you have done (no matter how bad you think it is). God hates sin, but He loves people and desires to forgive them of sin. He is standing with open arms to receive you and forgive you He wants to give you the power to live a new ilfe, free from guilt and shame. God doesn't promise us a rose garden, but He has initiated the way through which our soul can experience true freedom.
The big question to ask yourself is this "If I die today would I go to heaven?" Perfect church attendance, believing in God or even doing your best to help other people will not qualify you for heaven. These are noble goals, but the Bible says that all men have sinned and not even his best deeds are good enough to wipe out his problem of sin. Each man in his natural self is not good, unholy, proud and selfish while God is totally good, perfectly holy, all loving, and just. It is impossible for a perfect God to live with an imperfect man.
God determined the only just punishment for sin was death (eternal separation from His presence). Since all men have sinned they all deserve to be punished, but God did not want to send man to hell. God devised a plan that placed the death penalty for sin upon the only person in the universe who could take man's place. GOD HIMSELF, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Though Jesus didn't deserve it, He suffered and died on the cross in our place, providing the only way for mankind to have eternal life and go to heaven. Christ's death and resurrection enables us to be forgiven for our sins and gives us the power to no longer be controlled by sin.
You may feel as though you've lived a clean life or you may feel so dirty that God could never forgive you for all the bad things you've done. In either case, apart from Jesus Christ, your standing before God is the same. If you are sorry for your sins and are willing to turn away from your sins, and if you completely trust in Jesus Christ for forgiveness from your sin, there will be a supernatural change in your heart which the Bible calls being "born again." In order to receive what Jesus Christ has done for you, you must be willing to:
1. Stop trusting in your own efforts to please God and begin to
trust in what Jesus Christ has already done.
2. Ask Him to forgive you for your sins.
3. Invite Him to come and live inside of you.
4. Ask Him to take His rightful place as Lord and God of your life.
5. Turn away from whatever the Bible says is sin.
If you haven't already experienced this "new birth" and you wish to do so, please contact someone at the address or phone number below and welcome to the family.
If you're already born again, but feel like you are floundering, seek out a church where you can feed on God's Word, the Bible, and experience fellowship with other believers. Let it be said of you like it was said of David in Acts 13:36, "he served the purpose of God in his generation."
God loves you very much! God has a special plan for your life. Just come to Him with child-like faith. Maybe you feel like what you just read is too theological or complicated. That's ok. If you want to talk to someone about it, or about any need in your life, you can contact me or someone at the church. Seek help, and do not delay.
