December 25, 2000 partial solar eclipse

The following photographs of the partial solar eclipse of December 25, 2000 were taken near 40° 02´ 08" N, 74° 11´ 37" W in Toms River, NJ.

These photographs were taken using a Thousand Oaks black polymer solar filter, a Quantaray 500 mm f/8 mirror lens with a Sigma 2× teleconverter (for an effective focal length of 1000 mm and an effective focal ratio of f/16), and a Minolta X-700 camera body. The film used was Kodak Select Series Royal Gold 100 Film. An exposure time of 1/125 sec. was used for each photograph.

The images below were scanned from 4"x6" photographic prints using a Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 4p scanner.
