Richard Darling
was trained in Afro-Cuban Dance by Cubans Jesus Gonzalez,
Oscar
Rousseaux, and Silfredo
La O,
and in Latin Dance
by Cecilia
Villalobos.
He is currently performing in Cuban Folkloric styles with
Los Rumberos Europeos,
in Cuban Modern and African-American styles with
Angela Ingram, and in
West African Dance styles with
Becky Umeh.
He is studying West African Dance with
Assane Konte.
On Sunday afternoons in warm weather he may be seen in DC's
Meridian Hill Park
where the
Malcolm
X Drummers
play. He also
does ensemble work in Afro-Cuban, West African, and Latin genres.
