Since graduating from Habana's Escuela Nacional de Artes in 1976, Mr. Gonzalez has performed all genres of Cuban dance.
He danced and gained performing experience at Teatro Musical in Habana from 1983 to 1985, and then from 1986 to 1989 in Habana's famous Tropicana Cabaret. Mr. Gonzalez received worldwide visibility when he toured 80 cities and 20 countries as a dancer in Gloria Estefan's world tour, 1996-97, and her Millennium Concert 2000. He has also performed in musicals and videos in Miami.
He is well known to DC audiences though his choreography and performances for the Gala Hispanic Theatre (Raises Cubanas I & II), the InSeries, and at the late Celia Cruz's last DC performance in 2002.
He presently teaches dance in DC schools, leads classes at Washington Sports Club in DC, and gives private lessons.
